Your favorite belt brand?

I've bought my own belts since purple, for my own reaons that aren't important. At purple I bought a gi material belt from War that I absolutely loved. Before brown though, War disappeared. Emails went unreturned. Their socials went dark. Hey, it happens. At brown I got a Kataaro belt. That thing wore beautifully, soft, strong, and tied a good knot. Now at black I want my "forever belt". I am thinking maybe Datsusara, or maybe another Kataaro. But I want to pick the brain trust here. What would you want for your "forever belt" the last best you ever want to buy for yourself? Thanks. |
"My vote is for Kataaro. Isami makes good stuff, too, but now that I have a Kataaro belt, I don't know if it gets any better. Plus, free rank stripes for life is a great perk with Kataaro." Yeah, my brown is a Karaaro. They even changed my black rank bar to red when I started teaching. They're definitely in the running for my forever belt. |
Eosin (but would go for soft core if I were to re-order). When I did my research, they stood out as generally regarded even higher than Kataroo. Not least more advanced embroidering and the bars and stripes had better craftsmanship. (I'm not sponsored, but I think we both get some small bonus if you order and give them my name) |

The look nice online, but photographers can make anything look nice. https://originusa.com/col[...]ccessories Never heard of Eosin or Peelgi, thanks for that tip, they look nice too. |

There's a really large leather tag on them which implies they're never meant to be washed, and that's just nasty |

Love the Isami but if you want a forever belt Shoyoroll’s will literally last forever.. my brown still looks brand new. Be difficult to find anyone to embroider it though. |

It really didn’t impress me. Love the brand but the belt felt like a typical Fuji. The brown I seen did show its wear nicely though. |
"To be fair, the tag doesn't seem to say anything about that." I messaged on the Origin website about this and I believe I got an automated AI response. "The care guidelines don’t provide specific instructions about washing Origin Jiu Jitsu belts or the impact on their leather tags, so caution is recommended when washing them". It then asked my my rank and size with a click here to add to cart button. |
Clã Matsu, model Mamushi the best in my opinion, Kuromatsu is a very good one too. Every belt is individually produced and can be customized with some embroidery, really premium quality. I'm not sponsored http://www.clamatsu.com.br |

Like some others here, I'm particular about my belts being coreless or having as little stuffing possible. Not a fan of the overly thick belts and large knots. CTRL and Vandal Kimonos both make Pearl Weave belts that I like. They cinch well and stay tight. Do tend to shrink a bit more in the wash, though. |
