I trained Army Combatives Levels I and II before training at an MMA gym in 2011. I deployed back to back 2012-2015 and began training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu consistently in January 2015. I trained under 3rd Degree Black Belt Gabriel Fonseca with Brazilian Top Team. From 2016-2018 I trained under 4th Degree Black Belt Tiago Rocha and 2nd Degree Black Belt Victor Cervantes under Alliance BJJ achieving my blue belt. From 2018-2020 I trained under 3rd Degree Black Belt Vladimir Williams under Alliance BJJ achieving my purple belt. I trained with various black belts at the Fort Bragg Army Combatives Schoolhouse from 2020-2024 and trained forward deployed personnel while overseas 2022-2023. From April 2024 to present I have coached for Black Belt Anthony Nelson at Tidal Wave Jiu Jitsu on Fort Meade, MD an affiliate of CAT5 Jiu-Jitsu Jitsu recently achieving my brown belt. Army PCS cycles mean slowly moving my way through but my persistence is paying off. It's not a sprint but a marathon and a way of life for me.
